Last Saturday, my son and I returned to the Ten Mile River Preserve in Dutchess county.
Wonderful pictures and a Beautiful day☺️
Thank you so much! It really was a great day.
Fantastic. What magic to get so much time with them and such great looks. Definitely a tough one to find in western PA
Yes, it was an amazing opportunity. Golden eagles are generally hard to get in NY outside of the migration. To have them as winter residents in a reliable location is a dream come true. I will be heading over there yearly from now on.
I would be too!
Wow! That is a majestic bird for sure!
Yes, it sure is!
You are so lucky! Beautiful pictures, and a rare opportunity
I haven't seen one for a few years, so this was a real treat!
I've never seen one; I wanted to go this weekend but it didn't work out. Great shots, just would have been nice to get a little closer.
Yes, I waited an hour to get another chance at it flying by but no luck. It was still an amazing experience!
Beautiful. This bird is on my 'dream bird' list! I'd love to see one in real life someday.
Thank you, I sure hope you see one too!
Very nice photos. :)
Thank you very much!
Fantastic post - you killed it with the pics, nice job.
Thanks a lot, Matt! I was super stoked.
What a beautiful golden eagle. Huge. How wide is their wingspan?
Golden eagle wingspans typically measure between 72 and 86 inches (6 to 7.2 feet), but apparently can reach up to 100 inches!
