Bald Eagle Pair
Last week I had one of the most surprising and lucky encounters.
I was out along the Wallkill river observing a few juvenile bald eagles. They had congregated to feast on the many Canada geese that have unfortunately succumbed to what appears to be bird flu. Nature has it’s own clean up crew, and almost nothing goes to waste out there.
After getting some flight shots of the juvenile eagles, I moved downriver where I caught sight of 2 adult eagles on the ice. As I was about to take a photo, they flew off. However, I soon came upon them perched on a branch not far way. They were almost level with me since the river runs about 15 feet lower than the road. After snapping a few photos, I decided to take a short video. What happened next blew my mind, and is something I’ll never forget.
My respect and appreciation for nature grows with every experience like this.

Serendipity, right place, right time , and camera ready??!! Thanks for sharing.
